North Florida Recycling is not affiliated with the City of Jacksonville Solid Waste Division, but we do receive a lot of requests for information that pertains to them. We’ve compiled this list of frequently asked questions to help clear up any confusion.

1. How can I get a blue plastic recycling bin?

The City of Jacksonville Solid Waste Division no longer provides blue plastic recycling bins. You can purchase a blue bin at Home Depot for approximately $12 or just place your recyclable materials in a brown paper bag and set it on the curb on your scheduled recyclable collection day.

2. How do you recycle hazardous materials?

Household hazardous wastes cannot be collected curbside. Residents may take items to the city’s Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 2675 Commonwealth Ave. For more information, visit the City of Jacksonville Solid Waste Division’s page on recycling Household Hazardous Wastes.

3. How do you recycle electronic waste (e-waste)?

The City of Jacksonville encourages the recycling of electronic wastes from individuals not businesses. Electronic wastes are accepted at their Household Hazardous Waste Facility Tuesday through Saturday. 4. Can I, an individual, sell recyclable materials to North Florida Recycling, Inc?

Due to the current trend of theft of recyclable materials around the city, North Florida Recycling, Inc. does not purchase recyclable materials from individuals.
